Filippo Back-to-School Photos

Hi friends! Whew, what a crazy month it has been! It’s hard to believe that tomorrow is officially the first day of fall! I guess I should go out and purchase some fall decorations before it’s Christmas time! Anyway, after what felt like a super crazy summer, we have jumped right into fall, with not much of a break. Praise the Lord, my cancer and treatment is behind me, and I have been able to focus on ministry, working at the hospital, and tons of photography. For those of you who are front-line worker or know front-line worker, know that it’s been a really tough year. I am so grateful to have my photography business in the midst of such a hard year. It has been a breath of fresh air to meet so many clients, shoot at some awesome locations, and schedule future shoots.

If you have been following me over the past few years, then you will recognize the kids in these photos. The Filippo’s were one of the first families we met when we moved from PA to upstate NY, and we have quickly become great friends! Their children are bundles of fun and always keep us laughing and smiling. Since the pandemic, Leslie has homeschooled the kids. This is year two, and let me tell you, she makes it look so easy! When Leslie contacted me about scheduling a “back-to-school” shoot, I was so excited to find a time to meet up. We met up on a weekday, and captured some precious photos! Filippo children, we love you, and love watching you grow up!

One thing I have learned over the years photographing families, is patience and flexibility. Unlike an Engagement Session, where I can maintain control, nothing goes according to plan during family sessions. And often times, nap schedules are re-arranged, or the parents skipped a meal in order to ensure they are ready for the session. It is my goal as a photographer to roll with the punches, do what I can to best serve you, and capture memories that will last a lifetime. So without further ado, enjoy some of my favorite photos from this back-to-school session!
